ABOUT EXO FONT

Exo is a modern non-serif typeface designed in 2009 by Portuguese designer Natanael Gama through an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign. It attempts to convey the ideas of the latest technology style while maintaining an elegant design. It works very well as a display interface but also works well for small and medium-sized texts.

Its design began as a way to discover typography in a more advanced way. It has over 700 characters that support most Western, Central, and Eastern European languages. Exo is a free Sans Serif typeface family that contains nine different weights, including italics, leaving us a total of 18 styles the maximum possible on the web, so that we can give each part of our projects just the right presence.

Each weight has a vertical style and a corresponding “true” italic style! Many “techno” fonts have only oblique styles, but for the highest quality typeface, it is essential to have true italics that are especially drawn. Exo font also includes many OpenType features, such as lowercase, standard and discretionary ligatures, stylistic alternatives, old-style figures, tabular figures, superscripts, fractions, and more.

In 2013, as it became more common, Exo was completely redesigned and released the second version “Exo 2”, with a more organic look and better performance in smaller sizes and longer texts.
