What is the Bogle Font?
The Bogle Font is Walmart’s signature typeface. That’s right—Walmart has its very own custom font! Created specifically for the retail giant, the Bogle font is a key part of their branding, signage, and marketing materials. It was designed as part of a broader effort to refresh Walmart’s image, and it’s now central to its branding strategy because it reflects the company’s commitment to offering a modern and accessible shopping experience.
Created by HvD Fonts specifically for Walmart, the Bogle font is inspired by the Walmart logo and developed based on the Brandon Text typeface. It was released in 2017. Named “Bogle” after the founder of Walmart, Sam Walton (born Samuel Moore Walton, but known as “Bud” to his friends), the font embodies the values Walmart wants to project.
Featuring 12 distinct styles—including Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, Black, and their corresponding italics—the font family offers exceptional versatility. It also includes a Condensed version with three styles: Medium, Bold, and Black. This comprehensive range makes it the perfect choice for everything from Walmart’s logo to its product packaging, price tags, aisle signs, and even its online campaigns. You’ll spot Bogle across all of Walmart’s marketing materials, in-store signage, and on their website, helping to maintain a consistent and instantly recognizable brand identity wherever you go.
