About ChunkFive Font

ChunkFive is an ultra-bold slab serif typeface published by The League of Moveable Type as an open-source font. This font is reminiscent of woodcuts, broadsides, and old American Western newspaper headlines. Fat block letters are used primarily for display and are unreserved but yet polished for contemporary use.

The unedited interaction between sharp and soft forms characterizes harmonious geometry and provides strong personality, high readability, and originality for the brand, highlights, and headlines.

Chunkfive font features Basic Latin characters, Latin-1 Supplement, Spacing Modifier Letters, General Punctuation, Mathematical, Operators, and Special characters.

You can also check out Alfa Slab One which is a good alternative to the ChunkFive typeface.

ChunkFive Print Font

In 2014, a new textured style was created by Tyler Finck called Chunk Five Print. It contains the same glyphs as the original.

Note of the author
It’s not new, but it’s very popular and I’ve been using it recently as a replacement for Rockwell Extra Bold (which is great but not Chunk). I’ve also added some vector texture to the lettering for various print projects when I decided it would be useful for future myself (and maybe some of you) to create an alternate version of the Chunk Five with the texture already built-in. Here’s what we have here: Chunk Five Print.
